How treatment works

Results and longevity

Most HA fillers provide results that can last about 6–18 months depending on the product, treatment area, and your metabolism. Lips often require maintenance around 6–12 months, while cheeks may last longer. Botox typically takes effect within a few days, peaks by two weeks, and lasts about 3–4 months. Expect your results to look their best once initial swelling subsides, usually within 1–2 weeks.

Aftercare tips

• Use cool compresses in the first 24 hours as needed for swelling.

• Avoid strenuous exercise, heat exposure (saunas/hot yoga), and alcohol for 24 hours.

• Do not massage or manipulate treated areas unless instructed.

• Sleep with your head elevated the first night to minimize swelling.

• Delay facials, facial devices, or dental procedures for about two weeks or as advised.

• Schedule a check-in around two weeks to assess healing and symmetry.

Safety, candidacy, and reversibility

Hyaluronic acid fillers like Versa, Restylane, and Juvéderm are biocompatible and can be dissolved with an enzyme (hyaluronidase) if adjustments are needed. Common temporary effects include redness, swelling, and bruising. Rare but serious risks include vascular occlusion; contact the office immediately for severe pain, skin blanching, or vision changes. You may not be a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, certain allergies, or a bleeding disorder. Always share your full medical history, including medications and supplements.
